Essential Questions:
• Are all houses built the same?
• Do all houses have same number of rooms?
• Does everyone live in the same type of home?

Students will be able to:
• identify different types of homes
• from a model the kids will write clear and informative sentences describing their homes
• use Kidspiration with ease

-the children will construct and describe in written form using kidspiration  a house for a mouse.
-complete sentences-using capitals  and periods
-will use descriptive language
-will use 7 or more  well written sentences
-the children will do an oral  presentation to their peers and families
-will use clear and precise language
-will use well organized thoughts
-uses time wisely

Stage 3 - Learning Plan






Teaching and Learning Activities
1. Parent Letter sent home for “House for a Mouse” project.

2. Lab Session 1
The children will review  log on and save and log off
Logon to Appleshare.
Explore Kidspiration:
Launch Kidspiration. Sample lesson on winter:
    " Link, undo and erase"
      Change colour, size and font
Save
       In class, discuss their family and what a family tree is.

3. Lab Session 2
Review position at the computer.
Logon
Launch Kidspiration. Create "Family Tree"
Save.
Log off.
      Prepare: ”House for a Mouse" template
      Drag "House for a Mouse" template in student folders

4. Lab Session 3/4
Logon
Open "House for a Mouse" template.
Click on "writing".  Students type their sentences.
Read sentences and record voices on Kidsperation
Save and logoff.

5. Lab Session 5/6
Logon
Create a web of what is in their favourite room
Save. Print. Logoff
