Stage 1 - Desired Results
Investigate, demonstrate and interpret evidence that Earth’s surface undergoes both gradual and sudden changes.

Observe patterns in the nature and distribution of Earth’s materials, and in the kinds of changes that take place.
What do we know about Earth and about its surface below?
What evidence do we have, and how do we use this evidence in developing an understanding of Earth and its changes?
Students will know:
theory of plate tectonics
rocks and minerals
weathering and erosion/changing surface
Students will be able to:
Break down the topic assigned into what you will research
Use Inspirations to create a web of your topic.
Use Hyperstudio to visually display the topic and add written information
Stage 2 - Assessment Evidence
Use Hyperstudio to display one of the listed topics visually and in written form. For students who advance quickly, animation and audio may be added.
Include 3 visuals with written information.

Stage 3 - Learning Plan
Teaching and Learning Activities
Grade 7 Science- Planet Earth
Period 1 in lab: Introduction to Inspiration-
Change font, etc
Period 2 in lab: Finish research with Inspiration, add notes
Have students build Webography and bibliography
Period 3 in lab:Intro to Hyperstudio
Change text size, font, etc.
Period 4 in lab: students work on presentation-
Show how to do animation and sound clips if students are ready
Period 5 in lab: Students continue working on presentation-
Add pictures and animation
Period 6 in lab: students start presenting-
Have them fill out a peer evaluation using the rubric.
